Anthem: Anthem is set in a dystopian society: a society that's the opposite of a utopia (an ideal society). Definition an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. The opposite of Utopia . More specifically, it's set in and around a City (everything in this world starts with a capital letter), a community in which every aspect of every individual's life is controlled by the government for the sake of "the great WE."
